What to Expect During Your Visit
Dr. Peter A. Matsuura will review your history, ask about your symptoms and goals, and perform a thorough physical exam. Because our office offers state-of-the-art digital X-ray imaging, most patients can have images taken and reviewed during the same appointment. Dr. Matsuura will then explain his findings and recommend a personalized treatment plan, which may include bracing, injections, exercises, or, when needed, surgery. How do I register as a new patient?
After you schedule, you will receive a text message or email with a secure Phreesia link to complete your registration online. You can also register on your own device or on a Phreesia Pad when you arrive at our office.
What should I bring to my first orthopaedic appointment?
Please bring your medical card, insurance card, a photo ID, a list of your medications, and any prior imaging or records related to your condition.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Matsuura?
Some insurance plans require a referral to see a specialist. Please check with your insurance provider or call our office at (808) 969-3331 and we can help you determine what is needed.
Can I get X-rays during my first visit?
Yes. Our office offers in-office digital X-ray imaging, so most patients can have images taken and reviewed by Dr. Matsuura during the same appointment.
What if I do not have a smartphone or email?
No problem. We provide a Phreesia Pad in our office so you can complete your registration electronically when you arrive.
How long will my first appointment take?
Appointment length varies depending on your condition and whether imaging is needed. Completing mobile check-in ahead of time is the best way to reduce your time in the office.
What are your office hours?
Patient appointments are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. On Wednesday, the business office is open from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, with no patient appointments.
